Disruption may sound like a scary word. In the world of art, however, disruption creates progress and sparks new ideas. That’s a good thing!
In the mid-19th century, two major artistic disruptions occurred: the invention of photography and painters’ rejection of the Academic style in favor of a more expressive approach called Impressionism. We’ll explore the positive impact of disruption by looking at how painting and photography influenced each other.
